The problem with most Lawn Vacuums is they don't really work! Typically a gas engine drives a small diameter impeller that tries to suction debris through a 10' hose attached to a mower deck. The blades turning on the deck supposedly get debris moving so the impeller can take over and deposit the material into a hopper. There are 2 basic problems here:
Using a large vacuum impeller has other benefits too:
Think of it this way. It's like combing your hair as opposed to waving the comb around over your head. These flails are super effective (even in tall grass) but are so gentle they don't mar turf. Chopping action of the flails breaks up leaves so more fit in the hopper & reduce trips to dump. |
